1. In large saucepan, prepare rice mixes according to package directions, adding asparagus during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
2. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 F. Grease 11x7-1/2-inch baking dish.
3. Remove rice mixture from heat. Add ham, bell pepper and onion; mix well. Place mixture in prepared baking dish; sprinkle with cheese.
4. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until mixture is heated through.
Variation:
Substitute Uncle Ben's Brand Long Grain & Wild Butter & Herb Rice for the Long Grain and Wild Rice Original Recipe.
Cook's Tip:
This dish can be prepared ahead of time through step 3. Cover with foil and refrigerate several hours or overnight. Bake, covered, in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove foil and continue to bake until heated through, about 15 minutes.
