Directions:

Place mushroom caps in a large food storage bag. Add balsamic vinegar, olive oil, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Seal and shake bag to evenly coat mushrooms with marinade. Allow to marinate for 15 minutes.

Grill 6 inches from hot coals or over medium-high gas grill 4 to 6 minutes on each side, starting with the cap down. Season to taste and top with your favorite toppings.

Suggested toppings: spinach leaves or romaine thinly sliced red onion, roasted red pepper, etc.

“I always liked the condiments better than the meat, and this is healthier.. To the marinade add a little bit of maraschino cherry juice, or smash a few grapes or raspberries during the summer/fall and it will be close to a classic that was served at a restaurant that is now closed. They would also add a few crumbles of feta or blue cheese or mozzarella at the grill, (but that also adds a few tasty fat molecules). ”
